At the Golden Years, the terms responsibility, teamwork, empathy, family, and service are not just buzzwords. They are daily expectations. We are far from perfect, but we are a group of people sincerely working together toward a shared goal. We have chosen to spend our days, our nights, and much of our lives striving to do everything we can to provide the best possible care for our seniors.

We are family owned and operated – not by people that are physically or emotionally detached – but by a family that is present and intimately involved in the day-to-day activities of the Golden Years because they genuinely care about Golden Years’ residents and staff.

As a healthcare facility, we provide care 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. However, we do not mandate shifts or mandate overtime, and we do not use agency or external prn staffing. That means we rely on our staff to be dependable to work their scheduled shifts, and to work together as a team to fill openings to ensure quality care is consistently able to be given around the clock.

While we expect our staff to be responsible for their scheduled shifts, we offer flexible scheduling where our managers work with our staff to accommodate their changing school, family, or life schedules. In addition, we offer shift, weekend, and holiday differential pay as part of a wage scale that incorporates experience and merit increases. Many positions have a new hire orientation program and we offer paid in-service trainings throughout the year.

We employ high staff to resident ratios in an effort to support our staff and enable them to provide the personalized and quality care we expect. Baked into our culture is the expectation that everyone, regardless of their department or position, prioritizes serving our residents, and makes a concerted effort to provide that service with empathy and love.

Consistently providing exceptional care comes from consistently having exceptional staff, and we realize that our reputation for quality care is directly connected to the excellence of our staff over the years. We are so thankful for their dedication, hard work, loving care, and friendship. Whether it’s going out to dinner, bringing in something special, having a family picnic, or enjoying some entertainment together, we attempt to find creative ways to offer opportunities to connect as a Golden Years family and show our employees that they are valued and appreciated.

Earning a paycheck is good, but we believe that spending our time making a real difference in people’s lives in a work environment that we enjoy – while also earning a paycheck – is significantly better.
